JIGGA & EM announce Yankee Stadium Concert
Umm yes, you read that correctly! This announcement marks the first concert to be held at the new Yankee Stadium since opening its doors. Get all the deets NOW! The two titans of the hip hop world attended Wednesday night’s New York-Detroit game at Comerica Park in Detroit to announce they’d be playing at the Yankees’ ballpark on Sept. 13th. Eleven days earlier though, Jay-Z will be back in the Motor City to play with Eminem at the latter’s hometown ballpark, Comerica. They made the announcement during appearances on several television broadcasts of Wednesday night’s game.
Eminem:
“This is a once in a lifetime set of shows and I know we’re both really going to bring it to our home towns. The fans are going to love this — and so am I. It’s gonna be historic.”
Jay-Z:
“These shows are like a dream come true. I’ve always hoped that hip-hop could play any stadium like other genres of music. How perfect is it that Eminem and I get to play our hometowns and show how far the live rap experience has come? Fun and historic, a great combination all around the board.”
